DVMS does not have an official golf team, but does provide the opportunity for interested students to participate the in IESA postseason golf tournament.
Each year the IESA hosts a sectional golf tournament in which each school can enter up to 6 boys and 6 girls into the sectional tournament. Golfers who meet or score lower than a certain number, which changes from year to year, will advance to the IESA State Golf Tournament. The state golf tournament hosts the top 72 boys and 72 girls from across the state.
The top 5 boys who participated in last year’s sectional golf tournament scored under 85 and the top 5 girls scored below 100. State series yardage for boys is between 5200-5600 and 4600-5000 for girls. ***If your child is interested in participating, they must register on 8to18, have a current physical, and pay the $90 activity fee prior to participation (payment and physical are not due to the office until the beginning of the school year).
